Wrinkle Consultations
(Non Surgical)

For those looking for solutions to address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, wrinkle reduction treatments may be the solution. Our qualified practitioners offer a personalised approach to every treatment, ensuring you receive professional care tailored to your facial structure and goals.

A consultation can help determine if this particular procedure is the right one for you.

What Are These Wrinkle Consultations?

Wrinkle consultations involve a personalised clinical approach where a qualified practitioner assesses your facial concerns and discusses possible strategies that may assist in softening the appearance of dynamic lines. These lines, including those from frowning, squinting, or raising the eyebrows, often develop over time due to repeated facial movements.

Our wrinkle consultations at My Cosmetic Clinic are conducted in a clinical setting by qualified doctors and nurses. Individual results can vary based on several factors, including muscle activity, facial anatomy, and the goals outlined during your consultation.

How Do These Consultations Support Line Softening?

During your wrinkle consultation, our qualified team will assess the areas of facial movement that may be contributing to the formation of lines and creases. Based on this assessment, a personalised plan may be discussed to help temporarily reduce muscle activity in targeted areas.

Many people begin to notice visible changes within a few days following their in-clinic appointment. As results are not permanent, future consultations may be recommended to help maintain your desired outcomes, depending on your individual needs and goals.

Who May Consider Non-Surgical Wrinkle Consultations

Facial wrinkle consultations may be considered by adults who are concerned about the visible effects of facial muscle movement, such as the lines often develop with age and repeated facial expressions, like frowning, smiling, or squinting.

Both men and women may explore this consultation based on their individual skin concerns and aesthetic goals.

Common Considerations to Soften Facial Lines

There are typically two categories of individuals who may discuss wrinkle consultations with their practitioner. However, anyone who is considering this therapy may still be able to talk with our practitioners about it and other options they can take.

1. Therapeutic or Restorative Consideration

For individuals who have developed visible dynamic lines and would like to explore treatment options to soften their appearance. These lines may include frown lines, forehead lines, or crow’s feet.

2. Preventative Consideration

Some individuals choose to begin treatment in earlier adulthood with the goal of managing visible expression lines before they become more established. This approach is commonly discussed with patients in their 20s to 30s and should always be guided by clinical assessment.

Important Note:
Wrinkle consultations and administration must be done by, or under the supervision of, a qualified health practitioner ONLY. It should also be noted that not all individuals are suitable candidates for this procedure.

A detailed consultation is required to determine whether or not you are eligible for the treatment, as factors such as medical history, concerns and goals are to be established first.

What Happens During a Wrinkle Consultation?

We understand that deciding to address visible lines on the face can feel a little daunting at first. At My Cosmetic Clinic, our goal is to make you feel comfortable, informed, and supported throughout your entire consultation and in-clinic experience.

Here’s what you can expect when you book a wrinkle consultation with us:

Consultation

During the initial consultation, we will help you determine which option is best for your case and whether it will help you achieve the results that you’re looking for. We will discuss the potential risks, side effects and aftercare recommendations to ensure that you have all the information available to you. We will also answer questions that you may have regarding the treatment.

On the Day of the Procedure

When you return on the day of your therapy, our qualified health practitioner will run through the procedure with. Target areas will then be mapped out to highlight the administration site. You will be seated in a reclined position on a cosmetic bed to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible. Most patients find the experience quick and relatively comfortable, with only mild and short-lived sensations. However, experience may still vary from person to person.

If you do feel any discomfort at all, your administrator or any of our team may assist you in keeping you relieved to ensure your peace of mind. Typical discomfort during the session will subside eventually a few hours after the procedure.

Common Concerns Addressed Through Wrinkle Consultations

Wrinkle consultations at My Cosmetic Clinic are designed to assess a range of concerns related to dynamic facial expressions and overactive muscles. These personalised consultations may explore non-surgical approaches aimed at softening areas where repetitive movements contribute to the appearance of visible lines or muscle tension.

Depending on your individual goals and facial anatomy, the following areas may be discussed during your consultation:

Forehead Lines and Frown Lines

Frequent expressions such as raising the eyebrows or furrowing the brow can lead to horizontal and vertical lines across the forehead. Your practitioner may assess whether supporting muscle relaxation in these areas could help soften their appearance.

Crow’s Feet (Lines Around the Eyes)

Smiling or squinting can create fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes. Through a clinical assessment, strategies may be discussed to help reduce the visibility of these lines by addressing movement in the surrounding muscles.

Bunny Lines (Lines on the Nose)

These small creases appear when scrunching the nose during certain facial expressions. During your consultation, we can explore options that may support smoother skin in this region.

Gummy Smile

Some individuals may show more gum when smiling due to how their upper lip moves. A consultation may include a discussion on how to gently reduce upper lip elevation for a more balanced smile, where suitable.

Chin Lines and Dimpling

Chin dimpling or fine lines may be linked to overactivity in the chin muscles. Your practitioner may assess whether calming these muscles could assist in achieving a smoother skin texture in this area.

Downturned Mouth (Corners of the Mouth)

Tension in the muscles around the mouth can create a downturned or tired appearance. A wrinkle consultation may include an evaluation of ways to relax this area, promoting a softer, more neutral expression.

Neck Bands (Platysma Muscles)

Some individuals choose to explore non-surgical wrinkle consultations to address the appearance of vertical neck bands. This procedure is sometimes referred to as a ‘Nefertiti Lift’ and involves targeting the platysma muscle, which can contribute to age-related changes in the neck area.

Masseter Muscle

In some cases, a pronounced lower face may be influenced by the size of the masseter muscles. A personalised assessment may determine whether softening activity in this area could assist in creating a slimmer facial contour.

Trapezius Muscle

For aesthetic or comfort-related reasons, some individuals enquire about reducing bulk in the shoulder region. This may be discussed during a consultation to determine if targeting overactive trapezius muscles is appropriate for your needs.

Calf Muscle

If calf muscles appear overly developed and affect the look of the lower leg, your practitioner can assess whether a non-surgical option may assist in creating a more streamlined tone on the legs.

Support for Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Some in-clinic procedures can also be considered to help manage excessive sweating, particularly under the arms. This is typically explored through a tailored clinical plan and should always be performed by an experienced practitioner.

As with all cosmetic treatments at My Cosmetic Clinic, a thorough consultation with a qualified practitioner is required to assess clinical suitability and to inform patients of the potential risks, limitations, and expected outcomes.

After Your In-Clinic Appointment

It’s common to experience mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity around the treated areas shortly after the procedure. These effects usually settle quickly, and many patients feel comfortable returning to their daily routine the same day.

Your practitioner will provide detailed aftercare instructions tailored to your appointment. Some general post-visit recommendations include:

First 4 hours after the treatment:

  • Stay upright (don’t lie down)
  • Don’t touch or rub the treated area
  • No makeup

First 24 hours after the treatment
:

  • Avoid exercise or strenuous activity
  • Stay out of saunas, steam rooms, and hot environments
  • Don’t drink alcohol

First 2 weeks after the treatment

  • Avoid facials or skin treatments
  • Try not to sleep on your face
  • Watch for unusual side effects (contact your clinic if worried)

It is crucial to understand that every person responds differently, and outcomes depend on your individual skin type, muscle activity, and overall health.

HOW ARE THE PROCEDURES ADDRESSING WRINKLES AND LINES DONE?

After your consultation and once your goals have been clearly discussed, your practitioner will prepare the area by applying an ice pack and cleansing the skin. If a treatment is agreed upon, a very fine needle may be used to perform the in-clinic procedure. Your practitioner will talk you through every step to ensure comfort and safety.

A typical wrinkle consultation, including the clinical procedure (if suitable), takes around 20 minutes. The actual procedure itself usually lasts 2–5 minutes, depending on the number of areas discussed and treated.

Some individuals may feel a brief stinging sensation during the procedure. An ice pack is usually applied beforehand to minimise discomfort. Any swelling or redness that appears typically settles quickly, and you can usually resume your day shortly after. Avoid rubbing the area and strenuous activity for 48 hours post-appointment.

In case you experience more pain after a while post-treatment, be sure to contact your practitioner to assist you in addressing it.

The results after the procedure may be noticeable after a while, but will still depend on how the body accepts the formulation, and how fast the body heals. After your in-clinic wrinkle procedure, you may see full visible effects typically appearing around 14 days.

Basically, this may be done depending on your discussion with a qualified practitioner. During your consultation with one of our practitioners, we will assess whether combining a wrinkle consultation with a facial volume consultation may suit your aesthetic goals. A personalised plan will be created based on your preferences and clinical assessment.

We advise against undergoing any in-clinic wrinkle procedures while breastfeeding, as there is limited research on how these procedures may affect breast milk. Always consult your healthcare provider before proceeding.

There is no substantial research on the safety of in-clinic wrinkle procedures during pregnancy. For this reason, we do not recommend pursuing these options while pregnant. Always consult your GP, OB-GYN, or our practitioners to develop a safe treatment plan during or after pregnancy.

Most people tolerate wrinkle-related procedures very well. The typical experience of our patients at My Cosmetic Clinic is feeling a slight pinch or sting, but this usually passes quickly. A topical numbing cream can be requested during your consultation if needed.

Effects from wrinkle consultations and procedures typically last 3 to 4 months, though this varies between individuals. Factors such as metabolism, muscle activity, and the severity of lines can affect how long the effects remain visible.

For safety, wrinkle procedures should only be performed by qualified healthcare professionals such as registered nurses or medical practitioners. At My Cosmetic Clinic, all wrinkle consultations and procedures are carried out by experienced and qualified practitioners.

Yes, in some cases, a wrinkle consultation and procedure may lead to a recommendation for a “lip flip” effect, which creates a subtle upward turn in the upper lip. This result is temporary and should always be discussed with your practitioner during the consultation.

It’s best to wait 4–6 hours before applying makeup to the treated area. This allows the skin to settle and minimises the risk of irritation. After this period, you can return to your regular skincare routine.

Some individuals may experience mild headaches following wrinkle procedures, especially when they are part of a treatment for migraines. These are typically short-lived and can be managed with over-the-counter medication. If symptoms persist, please contact your healthcare provider.

Most people return every 3 to 4 months for maintenance, but this varies based on personal goals and how your body responds. Your practitioner will advise you on an ideal schedule during your consultation.

To optimise results and minimise side effects after your wrinkle procedure:

  • Avoid touching or massaging the area
  • Refrain from strenuous physical activity for 24 hours
  • Do not lie down for at least 4 hours after your procedure
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, or excessive heat for 24 hours
  • Skip alcohol for 24 hours
  • Inform your healthcare provider if you notice anything unusual
