What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances synthesised using a natural substance found in the skin. They are formulated specifically for injection into the skin to instantly restore volume and smooth away deep lines and facial creases, revealing a youthful, rejuvenated appearance.
What are the treatment areas for dermal filler injections?
Dermal filler treatment in our Sydney clinic can be used to significantly enhance facial volume by reducing the appearance of tear troughs, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and all fine lines across the face.
These injections are practical, non-surgical and highly effective cosmetic procedures used for achieving firmer, younger-looking skin. The procedure can be performed to treat the following areas and issues:
Our dermal filler procedures can be applied to the lips to give them a natural enhancing effect without the need for invasive surgery.
Our treatments are designed to tackle all aspects of the ageing process including restoring lost volume in the cheeks. Our experts ensure that symmetry is achieved through our treatments to create a captivating and more youthful appearance.
Wrinkles and creases
Wrinkles occur naturally as we age. However, the appearance of these lines can sometimes make us look older than we are. Our treatments are designed to smooth these expression lines and give you a younger, more natural look.
Laugh or smile lines are a type of wrinkle that commonly develop around the sides of your mouth. Laugh lines are commonly caused by repetitive facial expressions, such as frowning and smiling. Our dermal filler treatment can help get rid of these laugh lines without the need for surgical treatment.
Smoker’s lips can result in the formation of vertical lines that can drastically impact our confidence and self-esteem. Our treatments can help smooth out these lines and create a natural result using minimally-invasive techniques.
Dermal fillers can drastically reduce the impact of acne scarring. The substances used are natural and accentuate our body’s healing, allowing your scars to diminish with minimal downtime no matter your skin type.
Our nose fillers can be used to target specific areas with the aim of rejuvenating and uplifting the face to give you a younger look.
Chin and jaw
Injecting dermal fillers into the jaw can significantly restore the volume of the skin, pull the skin backwards, and produce natural, smooth contours to accentuate your jawline.
Dermal fillers are injected into the dermis (the middle layer of the skin).
Before your treatment, our practitioners will provide you with advice and education on the risks and benefits of such a procedure in a complimentary consultation. Here you will be offered options, and your circumstances and goals will be assessed to help you find the safest and most suitable treatment to meet your needs.
Who is the ideal candidate for this treatment
Dermal fillers are suitable for men and women whose facial aesthetic has been affected by the ageing process; those who have been left with wrinkled or sagging skin and have subsequently lost the volume and shape that defines the face. This treatment is also suitable for those who are happy with the way they currently look, but merely wish to postpone the onset of wrinkles and the loss of volume that comes with age. Those living in Sydney and within the surrounding communities can contact us to discuss their possibilities with this treatment.

The fillers we use are FDA-approved with substantial safety information behind them ensuring their legitimacy and safeness.
Dermal fillers are an excellent tool for restoring the volume and plumpness to areas of the face, including the lips, chin, cheeks and jawline, as well as under the eyes, nose and even hands. The products also smooth away signs of ageing like wrinkles and facial creases. In some cases, dermal fillers can be used to improve the appearance of mild scarring.
There is usually no downtime required after the treatment. While some patients may experience swelling, this is generally not obvious. In some cases, especially when treating hollows under the eyes, there is a risk of bruising, which may be visible for a few days. Generally, you can return to your regular daily activities following the procedure.
Results of the treatment can last from six months to two years, depending on the type of fillers used and areas of the face treated. Over time, the fillers dissolve naturally, gradually breaking down in the skin as we age. For long-term optimum results, we recommend repeating the procedure every year or two. However, to maintain the full, rejuvenated look, many patients repeat their dermal fillers after six months (recurrently, as required).
Yes. Your needs and expectations will be discussed with Dr Ansari or your nurse injector at your first consultation. If you require both dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections to achieve the most effective result, we will let you know and make arrangements for both of these procedures with your consent.
Dr Ansari and our team take every measure to ensure that your dermal fillers produce a natural-looking appearance. The treatment aims to enhance your natural features, smoothing away deep indentations and wrinkles in the process. You will attain a fresh, healthier complexion but your skin will not appear plastic or unnatural in any way.
The injections are placed into the skin with a very fine needle, so you may feel a small pinch when it enters your skin. However, Dr Ansari and the team use a numbing cream before performing the treatment, so any pain you feel should be minimal.
The results will be evident almost immediately but the swelling may take up to 2 weeks to subside.
There isn’t much to do in terms of preparation for your procedure. We advise you to inform us if you are taking any blood-thinning medication as this may increase your risk of bruising. Other medications have to be cleared by our doctor before the procedure can commence.
The amount you need will ultimately depend on your site of treatment and desired outcome. You can bring this up during your initial consultation with Dr Ansari for an answer tailored to your individual wants.
Limited research has been carried out to determine the safety of dermal fillers in pregnancy. We are therefore reluctant to offer this procedure to any pregnant individual.
Yes, they are used frequently to help reduce the signs of ageing around the eyes.

Yes, fillers can be removed using a special enzyme called hyaluronidase.
Flying may accentuate the level of bruising and swelling caused by the treatment. We recommend you seek advice from your doctor before booking a flight.
Alcohol may not affect your final result but may thin your blood and increase your risk of bleeding or bruising. It is best to abstain from alcohol for 48 hours prior to your procedure.
Exercise should be limited to light walking for 48 hours after the procedure to reduce your risk of bruising and excess pain.
Anti-wrinkle injections are designed to tackle the deeper layer of the skin with the aim of treating dynamic wrinkles. Fillers, on the other hand, are water-based and are used to accentuate plumpness by acting on the subcutaneous layer of the skin.
