Typically, patients can return to their usual activities or return to their work within a few days to a week. In most cases, there is only minimal discomfort, bruising or swelling. Concealing makeup may be worn the next day. Sometimes there is an indentation of the skin where the thread causes a bit of tension. This indentation usually resolves within a few weeks.
Immediately after the operation, cold compresses are recommended to help avoid bruising. Patients are not required to stay at home following their thread lift – it’s a matter of personal choice. However, it is important during the first days not to stress or exert pressure on treated facial areas.
