Happy New Year!!

2020! Such a good, round number. I don’t know about you, but it has a certain feel to it. I am not sure if it’s the symmetry or perhaps the fact that it’s the start of a shiny new decade, but this year feels special.

Were there things about yourself that bothered you over this past year or even the past decade? Many of our lovely clients last year mentioned that they never put themselves first and that coming in for surgery was actually a big deal because it was the first time in a long time that they had actually done something for themselves.

Now is a great time to reflect on the year and in fact the decade ahead. How do you want to feel this decade? How will you get/stay healthy? What new habits can you adopt to help you feel fitter, revitalized and less tired?

Oftentimes, if you set a goal or target for yourself, you make better choices going forward to help you achieve that goal. Now is the perfect time to set your vision for the year and beyond.

It’s great to do either an online or actual vision board.

Grab some images either online or from some magazines. You may like to include some delicious recipes, beautiful island snaps of dream holiday destinations, or the kind of fashions you want to wear or looks you want to portray. You may put some career or relationship goals on there too!! Have fun creating this vision board, and remember to look at it daily, reaffirming in your mind where you would like this life to take you and thinking about how you will get there!!

Throw out any clothes that don’t make you feel amazing. Anything that is worn, stretched or that you have tried on a few times lately but never actually wear needs to go. That way, whenever you put on an outfit, you won’t second guess whether it looks good or not!!

Hair can make a huge difference in your life! Is it time for a trim or a whole new style or cut? I know it’s hard, but make a note in your diary to have regular trims so that your hair always has a clean line to it and looks healthy.

Also, VOLUME in hair is always a great pick-me-up. Take 5 minutes every morning to at least blow dry the roots of your hair and add a light backcomb in. Whether you wear your hair out or in a ponytail, you would be surprised just how great you feel when you hair has volume.

Start your day with something healthy, whether it is a high fiber cereal loaded with berries or a power green smoothie; oftentimes, good choices follow when you start your day right.

Dr Ansari has undergone nine years of extensive surgical training around the globe. He received his initial surgical training under the auspices of the National Health Services (NHS) in the United Kingdom and obtained Membership in the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2006. Due to his particularly keen interest in surgical research, Dr Ansari has been involved in multiple academic research projects and was awarded a Masters (MSc) in Advanced Surgical Practice from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
