-Am i Right for Liposuction?

If you’ve been eating right, working out harder than ever, and living the healthiest lifestyle possible but still can’t eliminate stubborn fat in your problem areas, we have a solution that can help you finally reach your body goals. At My Cosmetic Clinic, we have several locations conveniently located in the Newcastle, NSW area, where we offer liposuction, the ultimate body contouring procedure.

Is Liposuction Right For Me?

If you struggle with one or more areas of stubborn fat that won’t respond to diet changes or a regular fitness routine, you may be a good candidate for liposuction. This body contouring procedure is designed to eliminate stubborn fat from some of the most common problem areas in the body.

Contrary to popular opinion, liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure. It will not help you lose a significant amount of weight, but it will help fine-tune your body and sculpt it into new and more aesthetically pleasing proportions.

The Best Candidates

If you feel like you’ve hit your weight loss ceiling or have plateaued and can’t work out or diet hard or long enough to lose that stubborn fat, liposuction may help you finally achieve your body goals. Liposuction can eliminate that stubborn fat that you haven’t been able to get rid of at the gym or in the kitchen. Once those fat cells are eliminated, they’ll be gone for good.

Both men and women who are at or near their goal weight, in good health, and want to address stubborn fat cells in one or more areas of their body make good candidates for this procedure. While age is not a qualifying factor, younger patients often have better final results since they have greater skin elasticity that allows their skin to contract and reposition itself to their new body contours.

What Areas Can It Address?

This body contouring procedure is extremely versatile because it can remove fat from almost anywhere on the body. The most common treatment areas include the outer thighs, often referred to as saddlebags, the inner thighs, flanks, breasts, hips, knees, abdomen, double chin, and neck.

If you want to address a body area with stubborn fat that’s been unresponsive to your diet and fitness efforts not listed, you can discuss it with Dr. Ansari during an initial consultation at our office.

What Happens During the Procedure?

Dr. Ansari will use a suctioning device called a cannula to remove your stubborn fat during the procedure. He will create a nearly invisible incision in your treatment area and then connect the cannula to a device fitted with a vacuum apparatus. This device will apply negative pressure to the cannula to gently suck the fat out of the treatment area. Typically, patients are put under local anesthesia or twilight sedation for the duration of this procedure.

Most procedures take anywhere from one to three hours to complete. Once your procedure is over, you will spend several hours in post-operative care before preparing to discharge from our office and return home.

The Tumescent Technique

The tumescent technique is a liposuction method that utilizes a diluted local anesthetic and epinephrine solution. This combination of substances allows patients to undergo the procedure without general anesthesia or intravenous sedatives. It also helps prevent blood loss during the procedure and helps reduce the total recovery time post-op. Patients typically achieve the best results when this method is employed during their procedure.

When the tumescent technique is used during liposuction, the treatment area will be completely numbed. Then, the tumescent solution will be inserted into the treatment area to numb it for the duration of the procedure and the 12 hours that follow.

What Kind of Recovery Can I Expect?

Once your procedure is complete, your recovery period will begin. You will be provided with a compression garment which you will be asked to wear for three to six weeks. This garment helps with the healing process and helps the skin contract and mold to your new body contours. For the first week, you need to wear this garment 24 hours a day.

Then, for the next two weeks, you will wear it for 12 hours a day. Wearing this compression garment is an important part of the healing process and will help ensure that you get the best possible results.

A Relatively Quick Recovery

Most patients experience a quick recovery after this procedure. You will be able to walk immediately following your procedure, but you will need someone to drive you from your appointment since you will still be under the effect of sedation. Most patients make it through the recovery process without the need for medication, but you will be provided with a prescription. You can expect to resume your normal work schedule within three days of the procedure.

How Much Weight Will I Lose?

You may see the scale drop after this procedure, but because this procedure is not a weight-loss procedure, you should not measure your results on a scale. Instead, you should use a measuring tape to track your progress and compare your results with your pre-procedure measurements.

Doing so will provide you with tangible evidence of your body’s changes. You will also notice that your body looks more contoured than before your procedure, and your clothes may fit in better than they did previously.

How Much Fat Will Be Removed During the Procedure?

When you undergo this procedure, you can rest assured that Dr. Ansari will take every measure possible to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. He will remove the necessary amount of fat to help you achieve the most desired outcome. It is important that you have some degree of skin elasticity and tone pre-procedure since your skin must mold to the new body contours.

This will help you avoid skin laxity or any sagging skin. During your initial consultation, Dr. Ansari will give you more details about what kind of results you can expect and how you can prepare your skin to increase skin elasticity to get the best results possible.

Will My Results Be Permanent?

The results that come from this procedure are intended to be permanent. Once the fat cells are removed from your problem areas, they can’t come back. Your body will not grow new fat cells if you do gain weight, but any remaining fat cells in your problem areas may expand if you gain weight. It’s important that you walk into this procedure with realistic expectations and a commitment to maintaining your results.

Your results are in your hands. Maintaining a healthy diet, exercising daily, and making the right lifestyle choices will help you maintain your results long-term. It is important that patients understand that they are responsible for maintaining their results and that this procedure is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.

What Are the Benefits?

Liposuction is a popular body contouring procedure sought out by both men and women who want to achieve their body goals. It has many different benefits, which is why it has become one of the most sought-after body contouring procedures. Not only cannot help improve your confidence in your appearance, but it can also help you finally reach your body goals by removing that stubborn fat for good.

It is also completely customizable; you can address one or multiple areas to achieve your ideal body image since this procedure can remove fat virtually anywhere on the body. Your clothes will fit better, you will look visibly better, and you’ll experience a relatively quick recovery.
